Individualized Curriculum
Since 1970 Accelerated Christian Education has published individualized curriculum and provided training in its implementation for children ranging from preschool through secondary school. Students are tested diagnostically upon entering schools or home schools using the ACE program. Students are then placed in the curriculum in each subject at their own performance levels determined by the results of the diagnostic tests.

The unique format of the curriculum allows students to advance from unit to unit as they demonstrate mastery. Students move independently through the curriculum under supervision.

Accelerated Christian Education is more than quality academics. The curriculum is built on a theistic philosophical foundation. Students learn to see life from God's point of view. Their personal relationship with God and their personal responsibilities to family, church, and community are of primary concern.

Why ACE?
The Four Keys to Accelerated Christian Education
1. Individualised:
The A.C.E. Model adapts to the learning speed of your child. This is unlike the "state school model" where the class is lock-stepped regardless of the student’s academic abilities. The A.C.E. Model allows the child to progress independently through the curriculum and not as a group. The conventional school model holds back the faster learner and forces all the students forward regardless of their "learning gaps".
2. Diagnosis:
The child is given a diagnostic test to determine current academic ability and clearly identifies any learning gaps within all subjects. For example, the child’s English grammar may be above his/her grade level. However their punctuation skills may be below grade level. The child is then placed in curriculum at his/her academic performance grade level in each subject and the learning gaps are then addressed.
3. Goal Setting:
The Students learn through setting daily goals and are challenged by marking their achievement. This key to learning allows the child to visualize and plan daily progress. This unique discipline of A.C.E. places responsibility and accountability on the student for learning, thus establishing a lifetime appreciation for goal setting and achievement.
4. Mastery:
The Biblical value of excellence in all things we do is translated into mastering subject content. This is the foundation upon which all future learning is built. The A.C.E. Model reinforces honest achievement that results in advancement. Students must master a minimum of 80% of the material (90% in Word Building) before advancing to the next step.

What's in a PACE?

The Accelerated Christian Education curriculum has stood the test of time and fierce opposition. Originated in the USA but international in approach and content, the curriculum concentrates on traditional methods of learning. It is being used in thousands of schools and many thousands of home schools in over 100 different countries worldwide. The results of using this Christian, progress-motivated, individualised curriculum, have been impressive by any standards. The children work on bite-sized pieces of curriculum called PACEs, which stands for Packet of Accelerated Christian Education. These colourful workbooks are designed to encourage learning and understanding and develop mastery learning. Each PACE comes with an enclosed PACE Test which is presented to the child on completion of the PACE. A score of 80% or greater in the test (90% in Word Building) allows the child to progress to the next PACE in the series. A score below this pass mark requires the child to repeat the PACE. This ensures that the child has a full grasp of the material before moving on.

The term “core” is used to distinguish the foundational courses from the enhancement or elective subjects. The core curriculum provides the student with academics, skill building, reading practice, and knowledge of God, His Word, and His character and wisdom.

The core curriculum includes the seven basic academic disciplines which fulfil essential educational needs: Mathematics, English, Literature and Creative Writing, Social Studies, Science, Word Building (spelling) and Bible Reading. English, Social Studies, and Science each contain 156 PACEs (spanning preschool through Level 12). Mathematics contains 144 PACEs; Word Building concludes with Level 9; Literature and Creative Writing begins with Level 2 and concludes with Level 8, and Bible Reading begins with Level 1 and concludes with Level 4.

In addition to academic achievement, ACE pupils are able to work with minimal supervision because they have learned the godly lesson of self-discipline. Here are young people who know their God and are well equipped to serve Him in whatever sphere He calls. Many graduates of the system have gone on to higher education, to missionary work all over the world, or are themselves teaching in Christian schools. In some countries, even secular governments have begun to set up ACE learning centers within their state schools because they see that the system works!

Availability of ACMS
Acms is no longer available for purchase and has been replaced by Readmaster PLUS. The same four programs of Maths BUILDER, Readmaster, Word BUILDER and Typemaster are included but the way the program is maintained has changed. In place of student counts the disk is provided with a one year licence for one computer regardless of the number of users. This licence is then renewed annually.

MATHS BUILDER: Chose the concept and level to practice basic addition subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, time and money.

READMASTER: Increase comprehension as timed reading exercises and questions help build speed and accuracy.

WORD BUILDER: Make spelling fun with computerised help to build vocabulary and accuracy.

TYPEMASTER: Learn proper keyboard positions, speed, accuracy, spelling, word usage in sentences and character.
